CASE REPORT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CONTINUOUS INTRAVENOUS MORPHINE INFUSION IN PAIN RELIEF FOR ADVANCED CANCER PATIENTS
Abstract
This case report describes the effectiveness of continuous intravenous morphine infusion using the Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) method for pain management in a advanced-stage lung cancer patient with metastatic brain lesions causing severe headaches and continuous moaning, which limited oral medication use. The patient’s pain was managed with continuous intravenous morphine administration via PCA. The results showed rapid pain relief, significant improvement in quality of life, and minimal side effects. This case demonstrates that PCA is an effective and safe pain control method for cancer patients.
